Where care & respect shapes everything we do.

At Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, wellbeing isn’t just about policies—it’s about making sure everyone feels listened to, respected, and cared for. It’s about creating an environment where no one feels lost, overlooked, or alone.

Wellbeing here means feeling safe, supported, and able to bring your best self to work, not just sometimes, but always. It means knowing you’re supported through life’s ups and downs, in a place where kindness, civility and inclusion are the norm, not the exception. Where respect is something you experience every day, not just something we talk about.

Through our Strategic Health and Wellbeing Action Plan, we take a joined-up approach to supporting every part of your wellbeing: psychological, physical, financial and social. Backed by practical tools and a culture of compassion, we focus on the everyday things that make a meaningful difference.

We’re proud to be part of a wider movement through the NHS Growing Occupational Health and Wellbeing Together strategy, guided by the NHS People Promise.

Guided by our values and behaviours we take pride in ensuring people feel cared for, and we all take responsibility for actively supporting and nurturing a kind and compassionate environment for ourselves and others.

Because here, care and respect don’t just guide our actions—they shape everything we do.

Support, kindness, and team spirit

Support takes many forms, from the Trust’s wellbeing policies to the everyday acts of kindness and teamwork that define how we work together.

Juliette Fleming, a dedicated nurse in our palliative care team, completed the Worcester City 10K with the encouragement and support of colleagues, friends, and family.

Together, they trained, motivated, and cheered each other on – listening, showing empathy, offering practical support, and celebrating every role and contribution.

This shared effort is a simple but powerful reminder of how we support one another, every person, every day, through kindness and respect.  It’s these values that underpin all the practical ways we nurture wellbeing across the Trust.

Here, your voice matters

We want everyone who joins our Trust to feel supported, heard, and confident to speak up. That might mean raising a concern, sharing an idea, or highlighting something that could be improved. There are many ways we support colleagues to speak up including our Freedom to Speak Up service, and a network of trained Champions who offer confidential and supportive guidance every step of the way.

Practical help for your financial wellbeing

Financial wellbeing isn’t just about numbers, it’s about feeling secure, confident, and supported in all areas of life. When your finances are under control, it’s easier to focus on what matters at work and at home.

Our financial wellbeing hub brings together practical advice and trusted tools: from everyday budgeting tips to guidance on borrowing, saving, and building long-term confidence.

We also signpost additional support for those facing unexpected financial difficulty, because real life doesn’t always follow a plan.
