Welcome to the Patient Public Forum (PPF)

We’re a group of volunteers passionate about helping Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust deliver the best possible care to our local community.

We work with patients, carers, families, and the public to gather feedback and share experiences -helping to drive positive change and improve the quality of care across our hospitals.

What We Do

At the heart of our work is a simple goal: to make sure the patient voice is heard at every level.

We work both independently and in partnership with the Trust, supported by key staff, including the Head of Patient, Carer and Public Engagement.

Here’s how we get involved:

  • Take part in regular visits and assessments
  • Speak directly with patients and carers
  • Represent patient views at Trust committees and groups
  • Support projects, improvement plans, and new initiatives
  • Review and report on patient experience
  • Promote health and wellbeing for patients and staff
  • Join annual assessments and surveys like PLACE and the Big Quality Conversation
  • Meet every two months to share updates, review outcomes, and plan ahead

How We Make a Difference

We’re proud to have made a real impact, including:

  • Ensuring patient representation at Trust Board and committee meetings
  • Taking part in staff interviews, including for senior roles
  • Supporting visual impairments with new wayfinding lines at Kidderminster
  • Reviewing and improving patient information leaflets
  • Raising awareness of hearing loops – including installing one at the Co-Lab
  • Contributing to service improvements in patient safety and complaints
  • Hosting the first monthly hearing awareness stall in a hospital in England
  • Helping shape the Trust’s Improvement System and Quality Priorities
  • Improving mealtime experiences through observation and feedback
  • Enhancing hospital environments through care setting audits
