Mr Lindley completed his surgical training in the Southwest of England before undertaking an 18-month fellowship in Sydney, Australia, gaining extensive experience in advanced minimally invasive techniques at Australia’s highest volume Upper gastrointestinal centre. In addition, he learnt robotic surgery, was involved in innovative research and developed advanced techniques in abdominal wall reconstruction.

Mr Lindley is actively involved in education and training and is currently serving on the Royal College of Surgeons of England National steering committee for Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). He has a strong interest in trauma education, multidisciplinary team working, and service development.

He is also actively engaged in charity global surgery through participation in international hernia missions, with a focus on sustainable training and capacity building. He has specialist experience in motorsport medicine as a trackside doctor at national level in the UK and Australia and international events with the Formula 1 and Formula E.
