I have been a consultant cardiologist in Worcester since 2016 and I was appointed to the role of Associate Medical Director for Research and Development at the Trust in May 2018. In this role I help promote research and development within the trust. I have also been recently appointed as a clinical trials scholar at the Birmingham clinical trials unit on an initiative to promote more chief investigators in the West Midlands clinical research network

My specific research interests include: ECG sensing with the subcutaneous implantable cardioverter-defibrillators, the impact of age, frailty and co-morbidities on implantable defibrillator efficacy, atrial fibrillation, risk prediction modelling and psychological aspects of pain during cardiac implantable device operations.

I was awarded a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Southampton in 2017 for research undertaken in subcutaneous implantable cardioverter-defibrillator.

I have published over 20 articles in peer-reviewed medical journals, presented his research at international medical conferences and authored chapters in medical textbooks.

I believe the potential for clinical research within Worcestershire Acute Hospital Trust is enormous and am optimistic about how this will evolve in the future.
