Safeguarding our patients and visitors, both children, young people and adults, is a key priority for Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. This forms part of our Trust aim of Putting Patients First.

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust adheres to NHS Employers Guidance and has clear policies and procedures in place in respect of recruitment and disclosure and barring checks in accordance with safer recruitment practices.

The Trust has Safeguarding Policies for both Adults and Children and Young People which details the roles and responsibilities of all staff, outlining lines of accountability and training needs to ensure our workforce is fully equipped to recognise abuse and neglect and work with partner agencies in order to safeguard the most vulnerable within our society.

The Chief Nursing Officer is the Executive Director for safeguarding activity within Worcestershire Acute Hospital’s NHS Trust.

The Trust works in accordance with the West Midlands Safeguarding Procedures for Adults and Children and the PREVENT Duty as a specified authority.

The Integrated Safeguarding Team at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust provide a range of services including:

The team are actively engaged with local Adult Safeguarding Boards and Child Safeguarding Partnerships to ensure a joined-up approach to multi agency safeguarding practice.
