Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Trust #WAHT - Offering amazing career opportunities in our Urgent and Emergency Care Team

There has never been a better time for you to join our Urgent Care Team

Times are changing in Worcestershire. We are looking for passionate, committed colleagues to help us grow and expand our Acute Medicine service across the county and deliver real change for our patients.

We appreciate the value, expertise and importance that Acute Medicine brings to the patient journey and are looking for people to help us bring real transformative and innovative change to our Trust.

You will be joining our team at a truly exciting time for Worcestershire with the launch of our multi-million pound Urgent and Emergency Care development on the Worcestershire Royal Hospital site. This will bring the Acute Medicine and Emergency Medicine footprint under one roof, and bring our front-door teams closer together.

A new 28-bedded Acute Medical Unit (AMU), and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) area capable of caring for 18 patients on chairs and 12 patients on trolleys has already opened and is providing an improved experience for patients.

We are looking for exceptional colleagues who can help deliver extraordinary care every single day, who have an interest in developing the service, and raising the profile of Acute Medicine in Worcestershire.

We want to be the employer of choice and have a passionate desire to help build the next generation of doctors and leaders. Whether you have interests in Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) frailty, education and development, leadership or digital innovation, we are searching for like-minded people to join our team.

What’s it like to work in our Urgent Care Team?

What skills and personal characteristics do we look for?

We want dynamic and friendly staff who enjoy working as part of a collaborative team to deliver the best possible patient care.

In Urgent Care, every shift will be different. You won’t know what’s coming through the door next – a mom carrying a febrile infant, an 80-year-old with chest pain or a young child with a head injury. That’s why we need staff who are driven, enthusiastic, and can think on their feet approaching each patient with the same incredible level of care, regardless of their situation.

Being able to work as a team is essential as we work closely with a variety of multidisciplinary teams throughout the hospital including Specialist Doctors, Pharmacists, Physiotherapists, Radiographers, Mental Health, Cardiology Nurses, and Alcohol Liaison Nurses.

We are looking for staff who have energy, enthusiasm, commitment, and drive, with a flexible attitude to work and the ability to cope under pressure.

The community feel of our practice shapes personal and professional relationships to continuously promote a well-led, competent, motivated and highly-valued team.
