What skills and personal characteristics do we look for?

Theatres are fast-paced, environments with many specialist roles. We’re looking for people who have a number of qualities:

You should be a team player, a quick and confident decision maker, ensuring the safety of patients at all time. You need to be willing to work in an operating theatre during surgery, and motivated to succeed in everything you do.

Every day the team works closely with theatre nurses, anaesthetists, surgeons and operating department practitioners. You will work closely with patients, nurses, and administrative staff across many different departments. We look for people who can demonstrate effective teamwork, so everyone can perform their jobs effectively.

Entering a theatre can be an anxious time for a patient, perhaps because of their anticipation of surgery, or the unfamiliar environment they are entering. By being part of the theatre team you play a significant role inputting patients at ease and improving their experience when entering the operating room, ensuring they are relaxed and comfortable.

TSW with patientWe are looking for staff who have energy, enthusiasm, commitment and drive, with a flexible attitude to work and the ability to cope under pressure. If this sounds like you we’d love to talk to you about your future with us –
