Welcome to the Neonatal Unit (NNU). Babies are admitted to our care because they require extra observation and support.

The unit accommodates up to 18 babies and has up to seven staff on duty: six qualified nurses (three to four with a qualification in neonates) and a nursery nurse.

When you are admitted to the Neonatal Unit a member of staff will talk you through how long your baby is likely to be with us. We cannot say exactly how long this will be – this will depend on your baby’s progress.
