Acute Medicine

Acute Medicine is provided at The Alexandra General Hospital (AGH) in Redditch and at Worcestershire Royal Hospital (WRH) in Worcester. The aim is to provide assessment and early management to patients referred to hospital suffering from acute medical conditions from Primary Care and from Accident and Emergency. They are assessed in our Medical Assessment Unit and our Ambulatory Emergency care (AEC) area. Primary Care referrals are made through our Triage Nurses who will allocate the best place for patients to be assessed. The Medical Assessment Unit is open 24 hours a day every day of the year and AEC between 07:00 am till 20:00 hours Monday to Friday except bank holidays.
