Dr Simon Murphy joined us as non-executive director in April 2021.

Dr Murphy, who has been a Worcestershire resident for over 35 years, has over 30 years’ experience in senior and high profile leadership, management , strategic and advisory roles across the NHS, charities, public-private partnerships, and business, as well as being a former Member of the European Parliament, and holding a PhD in Northern Irish politics.

He was a Board member of the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership for three years, was the co-founder and first Chair of Fusion, a partnership of charities and housing associations that helps to get those furthest from employment in Worcestershire into work, and is a former Trustee, and Chief Executive of Worcester Community Trust.

He has also held executive director positions at ExtraCare Charitable Trust, constructing, maintaining, selling and renting apartments in retirement villages, and Groundwork Northern Ireland, supporting disadvantaged families and communities.
