Ophthalmology
Ophthalmology is the treatment of disorders of the eye and vision. We provide services that involve medical and surgical management involving specialist doctors and surgeons.
The eye unit has departments in all three main hospitals across the county along with outreach clinics in Tenbury Wells and Bromsgrove, providing up-to-date diagnostic and treatment facilities.
Your eyes rarely hurt when something is wrong with them, so having regular eye tests is important to help detect potentially harmful conditions. The NHS recommends that you should have your eyes tested every two years (more often if advised by your ophthalmic practitioner or optometrist). If you do have concerns regarding your eyes, we recommend seeing your opticians or GP, who can assess if you require a referral to our services.
