Reappointment of Non-Executive Director, Anita Day
The Chairman of the Trust which runs the Alexandra, Kidderminster and Worcestershire Royal Hospitals has welcomed the reappointment of a Non-Executive Director to the Trust Board.
Anita Day joined the board of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust as a Non-Executive Director in August 2018. Her term on the Trust Board has now been extended for a further four years.
A Chartered Accountant by background, Anita is a highly experienced executive leader and business coach with Board-level experience spanning the private, public and voluntary sectors. Her career includes three years as European Culture Transformation Leader for IBM Global Business Services. She has a track record and expertise of driving transformation across large, complex organisations, as well as delivering improvements in culture transformation, change leadership, inclusion and workforce strategy, cross-system engagement and NHS Trust Strategy and Governance.
She was brought up and went to school in Worcestershire, and her parents were both cared for at Worcestershire Royal Hospital. Her family connections to the NHS include her younger daughter, who is a junior doctor in Derby.
Anita says: “I am delighted and honoured to be given the opportunity to continue to support the Trust’s efforts to put patients first, and to carry on the work of making sure our hospitals are great places in which to work and be cared for.
“As we focus on delivering safe, high-quality care in the post-Covid era, it is important that the Board provides wise, compassionate, inclusive leadership for our 6,000 staff and develops clear strategies for working with our partners, our patients and the public to build health and care services which meet the needs of all the communities we serve now and in the future.
Sir David Nicholson, Chairman of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, said: “I am delighted that Anita has agreed to stay with us for another four years.
“Since she joined us she has made a hugely valuable contribution to a number of extremely important projects including the development of our Clinical Services Strategy and the delivery of our People and Culture Strategy and I know she will continue to play a key role in making sure that we build on the progress that we have made.”
Anita Day’s second term of office, following her reappointment by NHS England/NHS Improvement, runs from 1 August 2020 until 31 July 2024. She is entitled to receive a remuneration of £11,500 per year. She is also a Non-Executive Director at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
