Morgan Motors rev-up support for Oncology Centre
Staff at Worcestershire Royal Hospital were treated to some stunning four-wheeled sights from Morgan Motor Company on Wednesday 29 April.
Morgan Motor Company brought along a couple of their 4/4 and Plus 8 models to Worcestershire Oncology Centre, as they handed over a cheque for £1,600 which they raised at a PistonHeads Sunday Service, held at the Morgan factory in Malvern.
The classic car company has partnered with Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust Charitable Fund to raise funds for further improvements to services at the centre.
Almost 200 charity rides in the whole Morgan range took place at the event on 19 April 2015, which helped raise the total.
Anne Sullivan, Macmillan lead cancer nurse said “This is fantastic news for our patients and we are extremely grateful for the support that the Morgan Motor Company has offered us.
“We know with their help we can continue to improve on the excellent services provided to our patients at the new Oncology Centre at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
“Since opening its doors in January this year the centre has made countywide cancer services more accessible than ever before. It has allowed us to bring more cancer services into the county and we envisage it saving patients, their families and their carers an estimated one million miles of travel every year.”
Steve Morris, Morgan Managing Director said: “We always enjoy hosting passionate enthusiasts such as the PistonHeads community and I would like to thank all those that attended for their generosity and for helping to make the day a success.
“I am pleased that we were able to raise so much for the new Oncology Centre on the day. Thank you again to all those that donated in support of a great cause.”
