Redditch surgical team thanked by hospital Board

A Big Thank You has been awarded to staff in the day surgery units at the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch in recognition of their hard work and commitment.

Staff on Birch and Cedar Day Units have embraced a new manager to their team and adapted to a new working style.

Awarding the team with their celebratory certificate and Big Thank You cake, Chief Nursing Officer for Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS trust, Lindsey Webb said: "I was very impressed to hear about the hard work put in by this team. I would like to let them to know how much they are appreciated."

Senior Sister and new team leader, Michelle Medhurst said: "As a ‘newbie’ to the organisation I was immensely impressed by the standard of care that my team deliver every day.

"Patients often arrive for day surgery looking anxious, as you would expect, but thanks to staff on the units they soon look calm and relaxed and ready to face their surgery head on.”

The Big Thank You is an internal scheme to recognise staff for their outstanding contribution and hard work. The monthly award recognises frontline staff and gives them the opportunity to meet with senior managers informally.
