Gastroenterology unit’s five presentations accepted at British Society of Gastroenterology

The team at the Gastroenterology unit at the Alexandra Hospital have five presentations accepted at the British Society of Gastroenterology’s Annual Meeting in Liverpool next month (June).

The Meeting will take place from Monday 20 to Thursday 23 June at the ACC in Liverpool. It is believed that this achievement is a new record for the Trust, with the first time so many presentations have been accepted by the Society.

The gastroenterology unit are a team of:

Dr Ishfaq Ahmad, Consultant gastroenterologist Dr David Aldulaimi, Consultant Gastroenterologist Dr Bryan, Dean Specialist Registrar Dr Dominic King, Specialist Registrar Helen Livett, Nurse Endoscopist Emma Davies, Alcohol Liaison Specialist Nurse

The gastro team at Alex were also supported by James France, ED consultant and Mark Vardy, Alcohol Liaison Nurse at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

The team has also published a paper on new anticoagulants in therapeutic endoscopy. In addition to this, they were involved in six health awareness live tv programmes over a 12 month period.

More recently, endoscopist nurse Helen Livett, took part in a programme on dyspepsia and heartburn, along with another on Hepatitis C which was done with Hepatitis C UK’s Trust Liaison Officer.
