Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Charity has launched its Christmas appeal ‘Wonders of Worcestershire’. The appeal will focus on the wonderful things that our hospital staff and charity team have achieved over the past year and ask for your support in helping the charity to spread wonder to the patients, families and staff of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust this festive season and into the New Year.

The hospital charity wants to provide ‘Wonders of Worcestershire’ to highlight the incredible work and commitment of NHS staff, as well as spread a little Christmas cheer throughout our hospitals for both our staff and patients. All funds raised by the appeal will be spent on those added extras that that can make the working day easier, the service more comfortable or the experience less difficult.

For anyone able to support us, all donations will go towards providing:-

  • £5 – could pay for two comfort packs for family members who have to unexpectedly stay at the hospital with their loved ones overnight
  • £10 – could pay for a set of games, puzzles or activity books for our play service to keep children entertained on the wards
  • £25 – could pay for a bespoke end of treatment cake for our young cancer patients
  • £50 – could pay for a set of cold weather gear for our staff manning the outside COVID-safe drive through treatment pods

On the new appeal Lucy Brown, Charity Engagement Officer added: “ We are delighted to launch our Wonders of Worcestershire appeal which focuses on the wonderful things that the our hospital staff and charity team have achieved over the past year as they focus on putting patients first in everything they do.

“Any donation no matter what size will help to support the patients, staff and services of our hospitals throughout the festive period and into the new year.”
