Our A&E department at Worcestershire Royal is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A&E is for major illnesses and injuries only.

The doctors and nurses at A&E are highly trained in emergency medicine and have access to special equipment and treatments.

We have a children’s waiting area in our emergency department. The waiting area is separate from the adult waiting areas and has toys for you to play with.

Doctors and nurses in A&E meet with all patients to decide who needs to be treated first. This means that people with more serious problems could be treated before you, even if you got there first.

For less serious illnesses you should visit a Minor Injuries Unit or contact NHS 111, your local pharmacy or your GP surgery.
