DAY CASE SURGERY - KIDDERMINSTER

There is no ward for children to stay overnight at Kidderminster Hospital and Treatment Centre. Our doctors and nurses will treat you within the same day, so you can go back home when you're ready.

Pre-operative assessment

You may be asked to come to a pre-operative assessment clinic, which is held on a Wednesday afternoon. This will usually happen the week before your admission.

The pre-assessment clinic is held in the Children's clinic. Please book in at the main reception desk and then go up to the first floor. You will be called through to your appointment from the waiting area.

You should expect to be there for 20-30 minutes.

You will also see one of the nurses who will fill in some paperwork and go through some health questions with you. You will also be weighed.

You and your parents will be given some information about having an anaesthetic and what to expect after your operation.
