Coming into hospital can be an unsettling experience. During your stay, or that of your relative or friend, we are here to support you in your own spiritual, pastoral and religious beliefs. We are here to support people of any faith or none.

When your hospital admission is being arranged you should be asked your religion and if the spiritual and pastoral care team can be informed of these details.

These questions should also be checked with you on admission to the hospital ward. However, these questions are simply a legal requirement and do not guarantee that the team will know that you are in hospital.

If you do not make a special request on the ward that the spiritual and pastoral care team be informed or tell us yourself we will not know that you are in hospital and cannot support your spiritual needs.

Whatever your personal faith, religion or beliefs if you would like to see us while you are in hospital please ask a member of staff to contact us on your behalf to let us know of your request.

As part of your on-going care during your stay, staff may ask if you have any spiritual needs or concerns and how the hospital may help. You can use this opportunity to let staff know if you would like to see a member of the spiritual and pastoral care team, attend an act of worship or receive a specific visit from your own faith leader.

An emergency on-call chaplain is available 24 hours a day and can be contacted by hospital staff or the switchboards.

We offer a confidential, non-judgmental listening service and can talk through any concerns or issues you may have.  

We are always willing to pray with you and to arrange any spiritual, pastoral or religious care appropriate to your needs.  

As part of our care we regularly offer sacramental ministry and prayer for those who wish it. 

If you need any particular items or dietary requirements which assist you in your religious observances please let us know. 

We can also contact local faith representatives on your behalf and arrange for them to visit you whilst you are in hospital.

Alexandra Hospital

There is a Multi-Faith Prayer Room just off the main entrance.

There is a service of Holy Communion every Wednesday at 10.30am.

Muslim Prayers are held each Friday, 12.30pm in winter or 2pm in summer.

Kidderminster Hospital and Treatment Centre

There is a Multi-Faith Prayer Room just off of the main entrance into C Block.

This room is available 24/7 as a place of quiet for all.

In the prayer room a quiet and reflective service of Holy Communion takes place on the first Friday of every month at 2.30pm.

A short reflective prayer service also takes place most Monday mornings at 9am.

Worcestershire Royal Hospital

There is a Multi-Faith Prayer Room just off the main entrance.

There is a service of Holy Communion every Tuesday at 11am.

Muslim Prayers are held each Friday, 12.30pm in winter or 2pm in summer.

On Sundays, spiritual and pastoral care volunteers are available share Holy Communion with you at your bedside. Please let us know if you would like us to visit you.

The Multi-Faith Prayer Rooms are open 24 hours a day as places for quiet reflection and prayer. There are books available for you and your family or friends to let us know any requests for visits or prayer.
