About us

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust provides hospital-based services from three main sites - the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch, Kidderminster Hospital and Treatment Centre, and Worcestershire Royal Hospital in Worcester.

We provide a wide range of services to a population of more than 550,000 people in Worcestershire as well as caring for patients from surrounding counties and further afield.

Last year we provided care to more than 211,000 different Worcestershire patients – that is 38% of the Worcestershire population received care at one of our hospitals.

In total, we saw 730,000 patient admissions or contacts, or about 2000 patients per day, including:

  • 139,000 A&E attendances
  • 52,000 emergency admissions
  • 65,000 planned operations
  • 5,800 deliveries
  • 468,000 outpatient attendances

We employ more than 5,500 people and have an annual turnover of over £360 million.
